The VEEP star had a grand time with the real VP at her first State Dinner, and tweeted photos...
Washington, DC - VEEP star Julia Louis-Dreyfus was seated with the real second-in-command, Vice President Joe Biden, for Tuesday's State Dinner honoring President François Hollande.  The Emmy-award winning actress had an "unforgettable" time, she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, posting a photo of herself with Biden.

"That was an unforgettable evening. Thank u @JoeBiden @BarackObama @MichelleObama," Louis-Dreyfus tweeted on @OfficialJLD.

Biden and Louis-Dreyfus were spotted giggling it up during the six-hour affair in the massive pavilion on the South Lawn that featured a four-course menu of American delicacies.  As R&B singer Mary J. Blige was performing, the pooler on duty reported:

"In one of the more amusing moments of a long day, your pooler spotted Julia Louie-Dreyfus, sitting near the press section, and asked her what her favorite part of the dinner was. "Look who I'm sitting next to," she said, pointing to Vice President Joe Biden.

The VP swiftly interrupted our conversation: "Hey, stop screwin' around, she's my date!" He promptly burst out laughing and said, "Just kidding."

Both Biden and Louis-Dreyfus had dates:  Biden escorted his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, and Louis-Dreyfus brought her father, William Louis-Dreyfus.  She posted an Instagram of herself with her father and the White House portrait of former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

"My dad & I with our hero," Louis-Dreyfus wrote.

The father-daughter duo also posed with the portrait of former First Lady Mamie Eisenhower.

"Me, my dad & Mamie last night," Luis-Dreyfus wrote on Instagram.

As she arrived on Tuesday, the actress told reporters that it was her first State Dinner.

"I'm thrilled," she said.

But it wasn't her first visit to the White House: The VEEP star and Biden lunched together last year in his office.
