#HealthTalk begins at 1:00 PM EDT on the @LetsMove and @EverydayHealth accounts...
The public is invited to join Let's Move! Executive Director Sam Kass today for a live Twitter chat hosted by the website EverydayHealth.com. The action begins at 1:00 PM EDT/10:00 AM PDT on the @LetsMove and @EverydayHealth accounts, using the hashtag #HealthTalk. (Kass, above)
the new school year kicks off, we'll be discussing tips to get your
kids more active and instill good habits that will keep them healthy as
they grow up," said EverydayHealth.com. Questions can also be submitted here using #HealthTalk.
Kass, 33, was formally named Executive Director of First Lady Michelle Obama's childhood obesity initiative at the end of April. The Senior Policy Advisor for Nutrition Policy has since been doing much of the tweeting on the @LetsMove account, which now reads "Tweets by @LetsMove Director Sam Kass."
East Wing staffers are still posting on @LetsMove, too, according to a
spokesman for the First Lady. Kass "does most" of the tweeting, "but
some are sent by other staff," said the spokesman. Sometimes Kass signs his tweets with his initials, "SK," and sometimes he signs with "Sam"...but sometimes he doesn't sign at all. Today the account will be all Kass.
Mrs. Obama's newest Let's Move! initiative is the Drink Up campaign, created to encourage Americans to imbibe more water. Mrs. Obama launched the massive project last Friday during a visit to Watertown, Wisconsin. Check out the dedicated website at youarewhatyoudrink.org. The Let's Move! website is at LetsMove.gov.
