Washington, DC - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on Monday swore in Krysta Harden as the new Deputy Secretary of Agriculture during a ceremony at agency headquarters. Harden was confirmed by the Senate on August 1st. She was accompanied at the ceremony by her husband, former U.S. Representative Charles Hatcher (D-GA). Harden, a Georgia native and former Chief of Staff to Vilsack, replaces Kathleen Merrigan, who served through President Barack Obama's first term before departing her post on May 3rd. Read Harden's bio here.
