First Lady Michelle Obama To Honor Military Mothers With White House Mother's Day Tea

Joining Forces celebration includes holiday craft project for kids...
First Lady Michelle Obama will honor military mothers and grandmothers at the White House next week with an early Mother's Day Tea on Thursday, May 9, her office announced today.  Dr. Jill Biden co-hosts the 4:15 PM Joining Forces event that will include craft-making with children.  The First and Second Ladies celebrated Mother's Day with military families last year, too.  (Above, Mrs. Obama and the chefs making crafts with kids in '12)

"Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden will deliver brief remarks in the East Room followed by an activity helping military kids create Mother’s Day cards and other crafts in the State Dining Room," the East Wing said.

"The First Lady and Dr. Biden will then return to the East Room where the children will present their mothers and grandmothers with their crafts."

Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden's Joining Forces campaign to support and honor military families is now two years old.
