The Veep and Secretary of State continue a tradition that began with Hillary Clinton...Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry had their very first breakfast together on Tuesday morning, in what will ostensibly be a weekly event. The Vice President hosted the 7:30 AM closed-press cereal fest at his official residence, the Naval Observatory. The two men were clad in their shirtsleeves as they enjoyed orange juice and fresh strawberries. The Vice President's Office released the photo, above.
"Today, @VP had his first weekly breakfast with @StateDept Sec Kerry, a tradition that started with Former Sec Clinton," Biden's office wrote on his Twitter account, @VP.
The full menu was not released, but there was no doubt plenty to discuss: After the breakfast, Biden went to work at the White House, where he attended President Obama's meeting with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam in the Oval Office. Kerry went to the State Department to hold a bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov.
