Wednesday: First Lady Michelle Obama To Appear On The 'Rachael Ray Show'

Her bangs are "my mid-life crisis," First Lady says during her fourth appearance on the celeb chef's show...
UPDATE:  Ray joins FLOTUS for 3rd anniversary tour Celebrity chef and talk show queen Rachael Ray will welcome First Lady Michelle Obama to her "Rachael Ray Show" on Wednesday, Feb. 20, for a Q&A via Skype, the production company announced today.  A high-profile advocate for Mrs. Obama's Let's Move! campaign, Ray has nabbed exclusives with the First Lady three previous times, most recently last September when they cooked together and discussed updated nutrition standards for the National School Lunch Program.

Mrs. Obama's appearance on Wednesday will be her first solo TV outing since Let's Move! marked its third anniversary on Feb. 9 without any festivities, but she will kick-off a national tour for her campaign this Friday, Feb. 22, with an appearance on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

A video clip promoting Mrs. Obama's appearance with Ray shows the First Lady discussing her attention-getting bangs, rather than child health.  Mrs. Obama debuted her 'do on her 49th birthday last month, and told Ray it's a response to a "mid-life crisis."

"This is my mid-life crisis, the bangs," Mrs. Obama said.  "I couldn’t get a sports car. They won’t let me bungee jump. So instead, I cut my bangs."

In the clip, Ray also announced she's packing her bags for an "adventure" with Mrs. Obama.

During President Obama's first term, Mrs. Obama welcomed Ray to the White House in May of 2012 to promote her then-newly published book American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America.  In January of the same year, Ray accompanied Mrs. Obama on a visit to a Virginia school as she unveiled USDA's school nutrition standards, and interviewed her for her show.

Ray also stars in a White House-created video that debuted in June of 2010, promoting Let's Move! and the Chefs Move to Schools initiative.  Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives Sam Kass has also appeared on Ray's show.  Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden has also appeared on the show.

Ray's show airs on ABC; check your local listings.
