First Dog Bo travels home with the President...
President Obama spent most of the last day of his Christmas Vacation on Wednesday in Hawaii playing golf at the Kaneohe Clipper course at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, in a foursome that included boyhood friends Mike Ramos, Greg Orme, and Bobby Titcomb. On Wednesday night, President Obama boarded Air Force One at 10:00 PM for an overnight flight back to Washington, and was scheduled to arrive at the White House on Thursday at 11:45 AM, to continue fiscal cliff negotiations with Congress. Also traveling with the President on board Air Force One was Hawaii Lieutenant Governor Brian Schatz, tapped on Wednesday to fill the vacant Senate seat of deceased Sen. Daniel Inouye, who passed away last week. Schatz will be sworn in on Thursday.
Sen. Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico and his wife also flew back to Washington with President Obama, reported pool.
Schatz, who was Hawaii chairman for President Obama's 2012 relelection effort, tweeted about his trip from aboard Air Force One.
"Just had a nice, brief chat with the President on Air Force One. Looking forward to supporting his agenda in the Senate," Schatz wrote on Twitter.
