President Obama's Schedule, Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 1-3 And Week Ahead

President will campaign through four battleground states and stop in Louisiana before arriving in North Carolina for the Democratic National Convention...
Ahead of the Democratic National Convention next week in Charlotte, North Carolina, President Obama will be on a campaign swing through four battleground states, billed as "The Road to Charlotte." He'll be traveling to Iowa, Colorado, Ohio, and Virginia. The President will mark Labor Day in Toledo, followed by an 'official' visit to Louisiana, to check out the recovery efforts following Hurricane Isaac. His schedule has been rearranged to accommodate the Louisiana visit, and a previously scheduled stop in Cleveland, Ohio, on Labor Day has been cancelled.

At each campaign event, the President will honor "American Heroes." Some will be members of the military to spotlight the end of the war in Iraq and veterans issue; others will be small business owners and individuals who represent other parts of the President's campaign platform.

On Saturday, Sept. 1, President Obama will travel to Des Moines, Iowa. In the afternoon, at 1:20 PM CDT the President will deliver remarks at a campaign event at Living History Farms in Urbandale, Iowa. Chris Cornell and The National will play a free concert for supporters.

Later in the afternoon, the President will depart Des Moines, Iowa en route Sioux City, Iowa, to deliver remarks at a campaign event at Morningside College at 6:30 PM CDT.

In the evening, the President will depart Sioux City, Iowa en route Denver, Colorado.

The President will remain overnight in Denver.

On Sunday, Sept. 2, the President will deliver remarks at a campaign event at the University of Colorado Boulder at 1:00 PM MDT.

In the afternoon, the President will depart Denver, Colorado en route Toledo, Ohio, where he will remain overnight.

On Monday, Sept. 3, the President will mark Labor Day at Scott High School, 2400 Collingwood Blvd, in Toledo. He is scheduled to speak at 12:30 PM.

The President will then travel to Louisiana to meet with local officials and view the ongoing response and recovery efforts to Hurricane Isaac. The President will return to the White House in the evening.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4, the President will travel to Norfolk, Virginia for campaign events. The President will return to the White House in the evening.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5, the President will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina where he will remain overnight.

On Thursday, Sept. 6, the President will deliver remarks at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. The President will remain overnight in Charlotte, North Carolina.
