President Obama on Tuesday sent what he said will be his final delicious email for the sixth and final Dinner with Barack contest. First Lady Michelle Obama also emailed donors, announcing a two-for-one deal to dine with the President, and he repeated the offer. The entry deadline is tonight at midnight. "This is the last time on this campaign that I'll ask you: Want to meet for dinner?" President Obama wrote.
The very popular First Lady has not been announced as a dinner guest,
though she appears on the campaign's graphics promoting the contest. The push for
donations to select the Eater in Chief's three dinner winners has
included sending supporters daily emails, two videos, and two different seating charts for the dinner. The President, Mrs. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have all sent emails, as have campaign aides. The donation page is here.
The winners will pay taxes on the $1,600 assigned retail value of the
prize package, which includes a one-night hotel stay and coach-class
airfare. Winners must also pass background checks and agree to be used
throughout all eternity in campaign promotions. Each can bring a guest.
There's an alternate "free" entry page
for the dinner contest that's required by law, but no winner has
gotten a seat at any of the President's dinners without dropping cash
into his war chest. A campaign official admitted last week that the org doesn't actually care if *you* are one of the three winners--the President just wants your money.

The President's email had the subject line "I'm asking one last time."

This is the last time on this campaign that I'll ask you:
Want to meet for dinner?
Donate whatever you can today, and you'll be automatically entered to join me -- today only, each entry counts twice.
While the other side leans on corporate donors and million-dollar checks, we're doing this the right way.
There's a seat at the table for everyone in this campaign, no matter what you're able to give.
Donate today, and be automatically entered to join me.
Barack
P.S. I'm not sure where on the campaign trail we'll meet up, but no matter where it is, we'll fly you and a guest out there and put you up for the night.
