Five fundraisers during three-day trip, including Beverly Hills event hosted by Gwen Stefani...First Lady Michelle Obama will attend five campaign fundraisers beginning on Saturday, August 11 and going through Monday, Aug. 13 as she travels first to Wyoming, then to Colorado, and finally to California. The trip will include the First Lady's third appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. It will be taped on Monday and air the same night. When last she visited Jay Leno in January of this year, Mrs. Obama promoted her Let's Move! campaign and convinced the avowed veggie-hating comic to sample some apple slices and nibble on vegetable pizza. A photo of the historic moment is now included in Mrs. Obama's book American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America, published published in May. Mrs. Obama also appeared on the show during the 2008 campaign.
Mrs. Obama's trip kicks off on Saturday in Wyoming with a visit to The Snow King resort in Jackson. Tickets for the event are $35,800 for Founding Families, with lower-priced tickets beginning at $2,500. After, she travels to Denver, CO for another fundraiser. On Sunday, Mrs. Obama will have two fundraisers in the Los Angeles area, including a fundraiser at the home of pop star Gwen Stefani. Billed as a "Family Fun Day," the event will be at Stefani's Beverly Hills mansion. The California native has two children with British singer Gavin Rossdale.
After taping The Tonight Show on Monday morning, Mrs. Obama will attend another fundraiser in Los Angeles.
President Obama travels to Chicago on Saturday. On Sunday, he will have four different fundraisers. including the 'Barack's Birthday' fundraiser, a party that will be in the backyard of his family home in Hyde Park.
