First Lady Michelle Obama on Monday welcomes 54 youngsters to the White House for the Kids' State Dinner, a luncheon honoring the junior chefs who won the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge. Designed to support the Let's Move! campaign, the recipe contest had more than 1,100 dishes submitted, created by kids ages 8-12 from across the nation. A judging panel tasted 100 dishes that were prepared from the recipes on June 20th, led by Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives Sam Kass and Tanya Steel, editor of contest co-sponsor Epicurious.com. This White House video goes behind the scenes at the culinary taste test, and includes Kass, Steel, and acclaimed DC chef José Andrés in action as they sampled the recipes.

On Monday, Mrs. Obama's young guests will be treated to a performance by Nickelodeon tweenthrob boy band Big Time Rush, and they will tour her Kitchen Garden.
