In a new campaign video encouraging supporters to join "Parents for Obama," First Lady Michelle Obama says that "How do we eat?" was among her many parenting questions when first learning that her family would be moving ito the White House. The answer was pretty simple: The Obamas brought their own private chef to 1600 Penn, Chicago native Sam Kass, then age 28. He is now the first-in-history Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives. As is tradition, the Obamas also retained the staff of very talented White House chefs who had worked in the residence during the Bush Administration.
As photos of the First Family flash onscreen during the 1:35 video, Mrs. Obama describes more of her move-in questions--"What do we bring? What do we pack?'' All the questions go unanswered during the video. (Above: The sign-up page for "Parents for Obama" on BarackObama.com features a White House photo of the President and daughter Sasha)But as the video ends, the First Lady gets to the campaign message:
"We're like every other parent. We're as good as our kids are. If your family is good, you're good. I think that's why we fight so hard for families."
