'Do Some Dishes,' Waitress Tells WH Reporters

It's not so glamorous being a reporter on the campaign trail with President Obama. During his "unscheduled" stop on Tuesday at Portland, OR's Gateway Breakfast House, one "surly" member of the wait staff was not so thrilled with the President's press pool. After the camera and tape-recorder-toting corps monitored the President chatting with local veterans, they were told to go outside and wait for him to finish.

"A somewhat surly waitress seemed happy to have us out of her way and encouraged press to do some dishes on our way out of the kitchen," correspondent Michael Memoli of the Los Angeles Times wrote in an e-mail sent to the rest of the press corps.
