3 days, 8 events: First Lady headlines $20,000/plate dinner in Massachusetts after visiting North Carolina and New Hampshire...Fresh from her visit to the London Olympic games, First Lady Michelle Obama hits the campaign trail for three days of action and eight different events beginning on Wednesday, August 1.
Mrs. Obama starts her swing in the battleground state of North Carolina, speaking to students at UNC Greensboro before heading to a closed-press fundraiser in Raleigh. On Thursday, she has three stops in New Hampshire: A fundraiser and two campaign rallies. On Friday, the First Lady visits Massachusetts, where her final stop is a closed-press fundraising dinner at the Richmond home of Governor Deval Patrick, where guests paid a minimum of $20,000 each to attend. Earlier in the day the First Lady will be joined by singer/songwriter James Taylor for a fundraiser at the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield, Mass, where tickets started at $150 and went up. Taylor has performed at other fundraisers, and at the White House.
