Unlike card for the President's 50th birthday, this year's edition has no message box for well-wishers...
Obama for America is holding its annual birthday card-signing campaign for President Obama, who turns 51 on August 4th. Those who sign the online missive are then re-directed to a page on BarackObama.com that asks for donations to enter the sixth 'Dinner with Barack' fundraising contest, currently underway. That's because entries for the Barack's Birthday fundraiser, which will be held August 12th in Chicago, close tonight at midnight. The card, above, is "sponsored" by First Lady Michelle Obama, and features a 2004 Obama family photo that the campaign released earlier this week to promote the birthday fundraiser.
"Join Michelle and sign Barack's birthday card," reads the text online.
Mrs. Obama and even First Dog Bo have been the subject of previous card fundraisers. The card for the President's milestone 50th birthday in 2011 included a box for well-wishers to share birthday greetings, but this year's card is focused solely on cash, and contains no such message box.
