An eat n' greet with locals between campaign events...*See update at bottom of post about the photos
While on the stump in the Centennial State on Wednesday, First Lady Michelle Obama and her daughters Malia and Sasha thrilled local citizens with a lunch-time stop at Nacho's Restaurant in Pueblo, Colorado. The visit to the Mexican eatery was sandwiched between two events for her husband's re-election effort. Mrs. Obama arrived at Nacho's at 12:40 PM local time, and chatted with patrons and took photos, according to pool. (Above: Mrs. Obama in action with two unidentified fans)
The restaurant patrons were reportedly wide-eyed when Mrs. Obama, in a sleeveless polka-dot dress with a wide black belt and black heels, entered the restaurant with her daughters.
"I guess I picked the right place for lunch today," said Henry Reeves, an Xcel Energy worker who was having lunch with his daughter, Lindsay.
Also among the diners was Henry Roman, the retired superintendent of Pueblo City Schools. Roman beamed after having his photo taken with Mrs. Obama."You know I almost met the Obamas when they were here in 2008," he said, referring to their visit to Jorge's Sombrero Restaurant on the city's South Side.
"I just missed them. But not this time."
Mrs. Obama's last campaign trail eat n' greet stop was at Mom's Apple Pie Company in Occuquan, Virignia, on June 7th, 2012.
In Centennial, CO, at 10:30 AM Mrs. Obama spoke to about 2,800 Obama campaign volunteers during a visit to Arapahoe High School. At 1:40 PM, she was scheduled to appear at the Colorado State Fair Grounds, to speak with more than 1,000 locals.
On Tuesday, Mrs. Obama visited Henderson, NV for a campaign event.
Update, 7:30 PM: In a first for Obama 2012, the Instagram at the top of this post was Tweeted by staff on the @MichelleObama account this evening. @BarackObama retweeted it.
"First Lady Michelle Obama chatting with customers at Nacho's restaurant in Pueblo, Colorado today," was written on @MichelleObama.
UPDATE 2, June 21: On Jun. 21, the second photo, above, by White House photographer Sonya N. Hebert, was posted on WhiteHouse.gov as 'Photo of the Day.' Another first.
