#MadeInOhio tour: Soft-serve for everyone...
Vice President Joe Biden went for a doubleheader of a foodie adventure on Wednesday evening while campaigning in Ohio. After a day of stumping in the Buckeye State for his #MadeInOhio tour--and verbally pummeling Mitt Romney--the Veep had dinner in Steubenville. He visited the Naples Spaghetti House at 329 North Street--a popular stop for politicians to dine--joined by a local family, the Staffilinos. After, Biden indulged his sweet tooth with a stop at a near-by Dairy Queen, where he enjoyed a chocolate-dipped vanilla cone. The Veep treated fellow ice cream lovers at the Hollywood City Center Dairy Queen to cones, too. (Above: The VP hands out vanilla cones)
According to NBC reporter Carrie Dann, who was with the Veep, Biden first placed an order for a chocolate-vanilla swirl cone. But the swirl machine was busted, so Biden instead opted for the vanilla cone dipped in chocolate. The Vice president paid cash, which he can be seen clutching in both photos. His trip is being tracked on Twitter with the hashtag #MadeInOhio. (Above: Dann tweeted this photo of the Veep enjoying his cone)
President Obama on Wednesday had his own take-out run in Washington, DC, visiting Taylor Gourmet, an Italian deli and market, to pick up six hoagies for a luncheon with Congressional Leadership.
Earlier on Wednesday, Biden was with former Gov. Ted Strickland as he visited Youngstown, Martins Ferry and Salem. They dropped by the Salem Firehouse, to thank the firefighters for their service. (Above: Biden in action at the firehouse)
"Great day in OH w/ @JoeBiden, talking to lots of Ohioans #FiredUp to Vote 4 @BarackObama. Ohioans know POTUS is fighting for them every day," Strickland Tweeted on his @Ted_Strickland account.
