Friday: Live Twitter Q & A With Sam Kass; New Let's Move! Gardening Guide Launched

Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives Sam Kass will take questions from the public on Twitter on Friday afternoon during a special edition of White House Office Hours, the White House announced late on Thursday. Join the hardest working chef in the nation to discuss First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign and spring gardening at 1:00 PM ET on the @WHLive and @LetsMove accounts. Follow the chat and submit questions with the hashtag #WHChat. Questions can be submitted in advance.

Kass' outing on Twitter celebrates a new addition to LetsMove.gov, unveiled on Thursday. The newly launched Gardening Guide on the website is "dedicated to helping schools, communities and families start gardens" just like Mrs. Obama's White House Kitchen Garden. It includes handy tips, a checklist for schools, communities and kitchens; the layout for the Kitchen Garden (download it here); White House videos, and links to projects such as the USDA's People's Garden initiative. Mrs. Obama replanted the Kitchen Garden for Spring in March. Her forthcoming book about the Kitchen Garden and gardens across the US, American Grown, will be published on May 29th. It includes gardening tips and recipes, and will retail for $30. It's currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com at the bargain price of $19.20.
