George Clooney will host a dinner at his Los Angeles manse for President Obama on May 10th, and a top Campaign aide on Monday sent an e-mail offering "some advice" to potential attendees. The two lucky winners of the 'Obama, Clooney & You' sweepstakes are each allowed to bring a guest, and they could use the dinner as a *fun* tool for bribery, according to Chief Operating Officer Ann Marie Habershaw.
"Choose your guest wisely," Habershaw wrote. "Whoever you pick to join you is going to owe you big time."
The subject heading for Habershaw's e-mail was "Some advice about George Clooney," and she billed the event as "a party for the President at George Clooney's house," asking for a minimum donation of $3.
The Clooney party will cost non-winners $40,000 to attend, and will be co-hosted by DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. Clooney lives in a gated Craftsman-style estate at the top of a secluded canyon just to the east of Beverly Hills.
The Obama camp on Monday also pitched the dinner as a bucket list item.
"Meeting President Obama at a party hosted by George Clooney—check two things off your life list," was tweeted by @BarackObama with a link to the donation page.
Winners will be selected from a list of fifty names drawn after the April 30th deadline for the sweepstakes, according to the Official Rules. The sweepstakes prize package includes round-trip coach airfare and a one night hotel stay, and is taxable to the winners for the assigned retail value of $1,600.
