A hurling stick can be used on naughty lawmakers, President says
Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny presented President Obama with the gift of a hurling stick after their morning meeting on Monday at Farmleigh House in Dublin. (Above: Kenny looks on as the President wields the stick)
The traditional game is hugely popular in Ireland, and Kenny showed President Obama how to properly hold the stick.
"If members of Congress aren’t behaving, give ‘em a little paddle, a little hurl," President Obama said.
Earlier, Kenny had presented the President with a three-volume set of myths and legends of Hawaii, for daughters for Sasha and Malia.
"It just confirms if you need someone to do good writing, you hire an Irishman," President Obama joked.
