President Obama's Schedule: May 24, State Visit With Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Arrival ceremony, lunch with the Queen...State Dinner...
President Obama and First Lady Obama arrived in London on Monday night after a change in plans due to the Iceland volcano ash cloud. On Tuesday, the State Visit with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II begins. Tuesday's events include lunch at Buckingham Palace, and a State Dinner hosted by Her Majesty in the evening. The President and Mrs. Obama will be staying at Buckingham Palace during their visit.

The Schedule

12:20 PM - Formal arrival ceremony at Buckingham Palace: The President and First Lady will be welcomed by Her Majesty and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh to Buckingham Palace.

12:25 PM - Lunch with Her Majesty: The President and First Lady will have lunch at Buckingham Palace with the Queen, the Duke and the U.S. and U.K. delegations. It is closed press.

2:00 PM - Portrait Gallery: The President and First Lady will view the Portrait Gallery at Buckingham Palace

3:00 PM - Westminster Abbey: The President and First Lady will tour Westminster Abbey, fand the President will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony.

3:45 PM - 10 Downing Street: The President and First Lady will travel to 10 Downing Street to meet with Prime Minister David Cameron.

5:00 PM - Buckingham Palace: The President will with opposition leader Ed Miliband of the Labour Party at Buckingham Palace

8:30 PM - Buckingham Palace State Dinner: Her Majesty will host dinner for the President and First Lady at Buckingham Palace.

*Royal overnight: The President and First Lady will spend the night at Buckingham Palace.
