First Lady Michelle Obama will mingle her two national campaigns, Let's Move!, which combats childhood obesity, and Joining Forces, which supports military families, together for the first time on Monday, May 9th. Military families have been invited to the White House for an afternoon of fun health and wellness activities, and they'll be joined by some superstar athletes. Mrs. Obama, according to the East Wing, will be making a "major announcement" about military family wellness. No details have been released yet.
Activities, and star athletes....
Mrs. Obama will be joined by President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition members, including Olympians Dominique Dawes and Michelle Kwan, and NBA superstars Grant Hill of the Phoenix Suns and Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets.The shindig is the first "South Lawn Series" event of the summer, and the guests will take part in activities at stations that include martial arts and yoga, lawn bowling, dancing, and planting vegetables.

Representatives from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the International Health Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) will also be on hand; they which have made a commitment to support National Guard and Reserve families as part of the Joining Forces initiative.
Mrs. Obama started the "South Lawn Series" in the summer of 2010, in an effort to transform the vast White House grounds into public recreation space for local citizens.
