Private peace talk...President Obama welcomed President Shimon Peres of Israel to the White House today, for a closed-press working lunch at 12:10 PM in the Old Family Dining Room. Above: The Presidents walk along the Colonnade of the White House, following their meeting.
The luncheon was Peres' first visit to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue since May of 2009, and the White House released no details about the meeting.
"The President looks forward to discussing the full range of issues of common concern, including U.S.-Israeli security cooperation, recent developments across the Middle East, and the pursuit of peace between Israel and its neighbors," the White House noted in an announcement before the lunch.
