Newly minted Social Secretary Jeremy Bernard accompanied President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama as they visited South Lawn activity stations at the 2011 White House Easter Egg Roll.
Bernard took up his post on St. Patrick's Day, and today marked the biggest event on the White House social calendar, with 30,000 guests expected.
Bernard is the first male Social Secretary in more than 200 years of White House history, and he's also the first openly gay Social Secretary. He took over from former Social Secretary Julianna Smoot, who replaced Desiree Rogers. Will Bernard last through the end of the Administration, whenever that is? Only time will tell...but there have now been three Easter Egg Rolls, and each has been micromanaged by a different Social secretary.
