Job Description: Must Love Vegetables & Dirt

First Lady's staffers join Spring Kitchen Garden planting...
Members of First Lady Michelle Obama's East Wing staff were busy in the Kitchen Garden on Wednesday afternoon, helping Mrs. Obama, the White House chefs, and visiting school kids plant vegetables for Spring. Robin Schepper, the executive Director of Let's Move!, and Mrs. Obama's Chief of Staff, Tina Tchen, were right down in the dirt with the kids. Schepper joined the East Wing last August, and she oversees all community outreach efforts for the Let's Move! campaign. She's also newly on Twitter, penning the 140-character missives from @LetsMove. The account was started last month, during the one-year anniversary of the launch of the campaign. Tchen joined the East Wing in January, leaving dual posts in the West Wing as Deputy Assistant to President Obama and Director of the Office of Public Engagement to become Mrs. Obama's Chief of Staff. During the planting, Tchen was joined by two of the school kids visitng from DC's Tubman Elementary School, and worked on installing kohlrabi and pak choi. Initiatives, Sam Kass. Tchen has been at other Kitchen Garden events, but Wednesday's was her first in her new role. She's also Executive Director of the White House Council on Women and Girls. (Above: Mrs. Obama is in the foreground as Tchen speaks with a garden helper)
