Video: Team Coco spreads the word about the First Lady's campaign...
Talk show host Conan O'Brien likes First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign, but he's not such a big fan of the PSAs created to promote fitness and nutrition. They need some comedic tweaks, in O'Brien's opinion. (Above: Mrs. Obama in a screenshot from her PSA campaign)
"I think it's a great idea and I applaud the First Lady," O'Brien said on Wednesday night, during his TBS show. "I just think these ads could have been, well, a little more effective."
O'Brien's parody uses a PSA from the first round of Let's Move! ads; Mrs. Obama launched a new PSA campaign for the one year anniversary of her initiative. Parody or not, O'Brien just brought the First Lady's message to millions of late-night viewers, and that's the kind of ongoing exposure that's needed for the campaign to succeed. In the video, O'Brien's actors toss food at each other and work out in tight 70's-era sports gear. Funny? You decide:
On O'Brien's website, the caption with the video reads "Michelle Obama's new fitness campaign is about getting America fit! The bad part? There are all kinds of different people who make up “America”..."
