Bestselling singer Beyoncé is the latest celebrity to join First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign. She's created the "Let's Move! Flash Workout" video, which will air in Middle Schools across the US on May 3 at 1:42 p.m, during a special national dance-in. (Beyoncé, above)

The multi-platinum-selling singer/actress has re-written and re-recorded one of her songs for the special video, in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation, according to Broadcasting&Cable.com. Beyoncé will also be providing an instructional video demonstrating the "Flash Workout" routine that will be sent to schools in advance of the event, so kids can learn the dance moves.

“I am excited to be part of this effort that addresses a public health crisis,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “First Lady Michelle Obama deserves credit for tackling this issue directly, and I applaud the NAB Education Foundation for trying to make a positive difference in the lives of our schoolchildren.”

The event is being produced in partnership with the National Middle School Association, the National School Boards Association and the American Association of School Administrators.

The President and First Lady had their first dance as First Couple when Beyoncé sang "At Last" for them at the Neighborhood Ball on Inauguration Night in 2009, and she also performed at the State Dinner for Mexico in May of 2010, in honor of President Felipe Calderon of Mexico.

The singer came under fire recently for performing at a 2009 event in St. Bart's sponsored by a "third party promoter linked to the Qaddafi family." She donated all income to a charitable foundation, she said.

Mrs. Obama will get some more high profile help with the Let's Move! campaign this Friday, when the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks join her at the White House for a street hockey clinic with local youngsters. A rink will be set up on the South Lawn, and alumni players from the Washington Capitals will also join in.
