Today: President Obama Welcomes DC Mayor-Elect Vince Gray For White House Lunch

One on One in the Private Dining Room...
Far from the flurry of activity that will be going on today in the White House as First Lady Michelle Obama unveils the 2010 holiday decorations, President Obama will be having lunch with DC's incoming Mayor, Vince Gray. Lunch will be at 12:45 PM in the Private Dining Room, and is closed press. On November 2, Gray ousted incumbent Mayor Adrian Fenty, who is enshrined in Obama foodie history as the fellow who accompanied the President to legendary DC eatery Ben's Chili Bowl right before the inauguration.

The President and Gray had some public face-time on Sunday, August 1, when both attended a Washington Mystics game at the Verizon Center (above). The two "chatted prior to tip off and again as the President left late in the fourth quarter," according to Gray's campaign blog. The day was as historic for the team as it was for Gray: President Obama is the first president to ever attend a WNBA game. He brought daughter Sasha, and they sat court side with Mystics owner Sheila Johnson.
