Desert Island Ice Cream cone was the centerpiece of Drudge Report. But the accompanying link wasn't about the First Family's organic-centric Maine vacation foodie activities.

ed story was all about the President's weekly address, released Saturday, which cast Republicans in an unfavorable light due to their relentless filibustering (etc. etc. etc...). The Cons, during Campaign season, used plenty of imagery of Obama eating various items of chow to make their point, or depicted him as food (such as the Obama Kool-Aid at left), but the meme grew less popular once the President was in the White House. Today's Drudge salvo is a renewal of the approach.Somewhat incidentally, but amusing given Drudge's photo choice, today is National Ice Cream Day. In 1984, the sweets-loving President Ronald Reagan designated every third Sunday of July to be the national holiday in honor of what was then deemed a healthy snack for Americans.
