Celeb Chef Anne Burrell At The White House Chefs Move to Schools Launch Event

The Burrell photo gallery...
Food Network celeb chef Anne Burrell, host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, was among the bevy of culi luminaries who came to the White House today to help First Lady Michelle Obama launch Chefs Move To Schools.

Burrell was at the morning policy breakfast, where she sat at a table with chefs Marcus Samuelsson and Marvin Woods, as well as other Food Network celebs, and she told Obama Foodorama she was "very excited" about Mrs. Obama's new project.

After breakfast, Burell romped off with hundreds of her fellow chefs to visit Mrs. Obama's Kitchen Garden on the South Lawn.  Reporters didn't accompany the chefs for this part of the day, but Burrell tweeted some excellent photos.  (Above: Burrell in the garden)

While tweeting is usually frowned on at the White House, today it was quite fine, as the entire point of the event was to encourage America's chefs to hop onto Mrs. Obama's (lowfat) milk wagon, and get active by adopting schools in their local communities.

Burrell apparently ventured into the bushes alongside the Kitchen Garden, because she took a photo of the inside of the Biocycler, which is tucked back behind some greenery. The Big B composts food scraps from the kitchen, and is used to fertilize the garden. Burrell tweeted the photo with the exclamation "The presidential compost pile!"
