White House Hosts Secret Service Barbecue Today...With The Menu!

Secret Ops Shindig on the South Lawn...
This afternoon, First Lady Michelle Obama and President Obama will welcome members of the Secret Service and their families to the White House for a barbecue at 5:30 PM.

The US Secret Service is one of the most elite law enforcement agencies in the world, and was created in 1865 to suppress counterfeit currency. Today, their mission has expanded dramatically and includes investigations as well as protections. After President William McKinley was assassinated in 1901, Congress charged the Secret Service to protect the President, and it's a dangerous and exhausting job, requiring the ultimate in dedication and discretion. (Above: President Obama with his regular mission members) Here's the top secret menu for today's Secret Ops shindig:

White House Secret Service Barbecue

Task Force Tomato Salad
Heirloom tomatoes from the Kitchen Garden, with microgreens and Bee Hive Honey Lemon Vinaigrette
The Beast
Quarter-pound hamburgers with bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno on toasted whole wheat bun, Secret Sauce

Key Mission Mashed Potatoes

Executive Order Eggplant
Grilled with Special Agent Spices

No doubt a good time will be had by all, seeing as how President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize this morning. (Below: The President and Mrs. Obama leave Marine One, escorted by an agent as they arrive in Pittsburgh for the G20)
