The Latest White House Flickr Update: Pete Souza's China Syndrome

In the latest update of the official White House Flickr, Official White House photographer Pete Souza had his own private China syndrome happening; he took some excellent photos of White House platewear. Above, "A shadow is cast across a place setting in President Barack Obama's private dining room on Oct. 13, 2009." The china is "standard issue" platewear with the presidential seal that's used in the private residence; First Lady Michelle Obama has not created her own china pattern yet...other than the special tea set for the G20 Spouse Gifts, that is.
Above, Souza took a break from following the President around and caught White House butlers Ron Guy, left, and Von Everett, setting the table in the Cabinet Room of the White House, before the President's working lunch on Oct. 13, 2009. That's Truman China they're using, by the way.

Above: The china is about to be used during the President's working lunch, which was for Spanish President Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. It's White House policy to not publish photographs of people actually eating...those will be published at the end of the administration, and in Souza's forthcoming Obama coffeetable book that will appear sometime in late 2016....
